Telvy’s Note On Games & Mods
From a very young age, approximately around the time when I was in late middle school/Junior High, I began to have an odd fascination with video game technology and how games function. Throughout my childhood I was never extremely into games compared to my peers, yet I played them and had an odd fascination with some. While they grew up playing games like Halo and other “big boy” games on powerhouse consoles for the time such as the original Xbox and PlayStation 2, I merely just played movie and TV licensed games on my Nintendo GameCube and Gameboy. It was not until I grew much older once I was given a hand-me-down of an old Windows Vista laptop and an Xbox 360, playing top-of-the-line games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Halo: Reach, and Fallout 3 while tinkering in an open source game engine called 3D Rad. The duality of these life impacting experiences shaped me for the first time in years and has truly motivated me to pursue such a field of expertise.
It was not until I first tried out the Unreal Engine 3 UDK that truly blew my mind into the potential of video game creation in a time when games were slowly becoming a dominant media in the entertainment industry, seeing the future as a young 13 year old boy to where these fluid, high octane and well animated virtual experiences can take someone as average as myself to. Combine this with the discovery of Steam, PC gaming, Valve Software’s The Orange Box and the Source Engine, and you got yourself with a preoccupied per-teen spending his whole summer just trying to craft something so complex that it would only take him year later to be at least intermediate in his college years.
This page is devoted to the ongoing results of those years and experiences. Some more important than other, and some more forgettable. Here you will find a list games or mods that I have started on and/or completed. Changes will be made and the list will be updated from time to time.
